Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
This policy explains the cookies, similar tracking technologies and localStorage used by the czay.dev ecosystem, their categories and the consent mechanism. For comprehensive information on the processing of your personal data, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. Cookies are used for various purposes, such as remembering session information, storing user preferences and performing traffic analysis. You can delete or block them from your browser at any time.
2. Cookie Categories
- Strictly necessary cookies: the record of a national holiday pop-up you have closed (
czay_milli; it stores only "which holiday, which year", contains no identifying information and is not sent to the server). Your language is kept in the address (/tr,/en), not in a cookie. They are required for the basic functions of the site; no consent is sought. - Analytics cookies: page views, source/medium and interaction events via Google Analytics 4. They do not reveal your personal identity; they are kept on a per-device/per-session basis. They do not run if consent is not given.
For analytics cookies, your explicit consent is obtained on your first visit through the cookie consent banner. You can make choices by category on the banner and change your preferences at any time afterwards.
3. Use of localStorage
Apart from cookies, the following information is stored in your browser using localStorage:
- Theme preference (light/dark) and accent color
- Cookie consent status
- Reading mode preference
- Status of dismissed banners/announcements
localStorage data are not sent to the server; they are stored only in your browser. You can reset them by clearing your browser data.
4. Third-Party Cookies
The following third-party services may place cookies under their own policies:
- Google Analytics 4: traffic analysis (anonymous)
- YouTube: embedded video players
- Cloudflare: site caching and form security verification (Turnstile). It may place a short-lived technical cookie to distinguish bots; it does not collect personal data.
5. Withdrawing Consent and Management
You can change your preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the very bottom of the page. Alternatively, you can delete existing cookies or block all cookies through your browser's privacy settings. If strictly necessary cookies are blocked, the basic functions of the site may not work.
